The following morning, at dawn, when the first light of day was beginning to appear,
the baby girl was seen lying beside a large body of water. From all indications, it
looked like a lake or a sea.

What had happened the previous night was that after the car fell into the water, Allah
gave Hafsat the strength to open the door of the car and come out with her baby. But
Hafsat did not know how to swim. Before she could make another effort, the current
snatched the baby away and carried her in another direction, while Hafsat herself was
swept away too.

That was how the water later brought the baby girl to that place.

The poor little baby kept throwing her legs upward and crying.

A huge crocodile came out from the edge of the water. When it saw the baby, it moved
toward her eagerly, driven by the hunger of the early morning.

sitting and watching the baby girl.

to the water to bathe her.

Quickly, the elephant came and began fetching water with its trunk, using it like a hand
to pour water on the baby while the gorilla washed her.

When the gorilla turned her back, it saw a black writing mark from the side of her neck
down toward her back.

The gorilla stared at the writing for a long time, even though it did not understand
what was written there. Then it finished bathing her, wrapped her up, and climbed the
tree with her.
