Two minutes after he left, he came back in together with Abba and Baba. Abu did not enter, while Yaa Khamal and Miftahu were also there.

Baba and the others sat down before Sheikh once again reassured them concerning Ayat’s illness. Then, with his eyes lowered, he opened his mouth and said:

“Baba, please do not worry. Insha Allah, she will get well. That is actually why I called you, so that I could personally inform you myself.”

Everyone smiled while repeatedly saying, “Alhamdulillah,” before they said:

“Masha Allah, Yaa Sheikh. May Allah continue to grant her good health, together with all Muslims. And may Allah reward you with goodness.”

“Ameen,” he replied while continuing with his tasbih.

Then he heard Abba saying:

“There is also the issue of the blood. Wallahi, they said none of our blood matched hers. But I have sent someone home to bring her mother so that her blood can also be tested to see whether it will match. If hers does not match either, then we will simply buy blood and have it transfused into her.”

“Alright,” was all Sheikh said quietly without looking at them.

He was not a man who talked much, and he did not feel that he could tell them that his own blood had already been drawn, just as he had been unable to tell them exactly what was wrong with their daughter.

They continued thanking him before leaving the office.

They also did not ask him what exactly was wrong with Ayat. In their minds, they felt it would not be right to question him again since he had already told them that he was still investigating her condition.

Sheikh’s Blood Was Brought for Ayat

About an hour later, the blood that had been drawn from Sheikh was brought back after it had been properly screened and prepared.

Sheikh went and administered the blood to Ayat. He still found her asleep because of the sleeping injection he had given her.

After he finished connecting the blood transfusion to her, he came outside calmly and said:

“Assalamu alaikum.”

They quickly responded to his greeting.

Then, in his usual reserved manner, he said:

“I am going home now because she is sleeping at the moment. However, some clothes should be brought for her to wear, and only one woman will be allowed to stay with her until I return. Dr. Yaqub will take her to the room where the girl is staying.”

He spoke with his head lowered, full of respect and humility.

Yaa Khamal and Yaa Miftahu quickly asked:

“Yaa Sheikh, can all of us go and see her?”

He gave them a brief sideways glance from beneath his lowered eyes before saying:

“Only one woman will go, and she must be a mother, not a young girl.”

As soon as he finished saying that, he turned to leave.

They immediately began showering him with words of gratitude until he started becoming tired of their repeated thanks.

In his gentle manner, he said:

“Please, Baba, stop thanking me. Allah alone is the One we should thank, because He alone deserves gratitude at all times.”

They replied:

“That is true, Sheikh. We will keep that in mind, Insha Allah. Alhamdulillahi ala kulli hal.”

Sheikh simply lowered his head and walked out of the veranda, with his escort following behind him.

Umma Goes to Stay With Ayat

After Sheikh left the place, Dr. Yaqub came and said that whoever was going to stay with Ayat should come so that they could go together.

Umma was the one who followed him inside to the room where Ayat was lying asleep.

Ayat had truly gone through a very difficult and painful experience that day.
