Fatima Bintu Book One Complete Hausa Novel English Translation

Today, I had a morning lecture. I woke up early, prepared breakfast, then went back to my room and cleaned it until I was sure everywhere was spotless.

When I checked the time, it was already 8:30 a.m. I quickly entered the bathroom, bathed, and dressed in a maroon lace outfit. I looked very beautiful.

I went toward the dining area, but Mum and Fauze had already finished eating. When I opened the food flasks, I found them empty. They had eaten all the Irish potatoes and plantain. Only bread was left for me, and I do not eat bread.

I was already late, so I could not cook noodles. I simply picked up my veil and left.

Despite how fast I walked, Dr. Mumtaz entered the class before me. Unfortunately, he and I were not on good terms, especially since he once said he loved me and later began acting as if he hated me.

By Allah’s mercy, I was not the only one who came late. Because of that, he pardoned us and allowed us to enter.

He warned us that the next day, during his 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. period, he would conduct a test, and whoever came late would not be allowed to enter.

The Quiet Garden

After we came out of class, I did not know where to sit because we still had another lecture from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

I went back to the side of the garden where I usually sat because the place was calm and comfortable.

I had not sat there for more than twenty minutes when he arrived in a beautiful new-design Mercedes Benz.

The workers taking care of the place quickly rushed to him, bowed, and greeted him. Then they brought out beautiful food flasks from his car and spread a large mat on the grass carpet.

Instead of sitting down, he came toward me.

“You again?” he asked.

“Why do you not listen? Did I not stop you from coming here?”

I looked at him and asked, “Please, who exactly are you in this school? I am a student like you.”

He replied, “Then why do you insist on sitting here?”

I said, “Please forgive me. By Allah, I have been sitting here for about a month, and nobody ever said anything to me. I have already become used to the place.”

I continued, “In my life, I do not like noise, and I do not easily feel free among people. I only have two friends in this school. One stays in the hostel, and the other lives in my area. So please forgive me and allow me to continue sitting here. It is not because I have bad manners.”

He smiled until his white teeth showed.

Then he said, “Alright, I have forgiven you.”

He returned and sat on the mat.

He served himself food. Then he put paper chicken and snacks in a foil paper, took one Don Simon drink, and brought them to me.

I tried to refuse, but he gave me a look that made my hand shake as I collected it.

Still, I could not eat in front of him. I went to the mosque area and ate there because I had not eaten breakfast.

By 2 p.m., we returned to lecture.

Another Test Day

Today, my lecture was from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. After breakfast, I went back to sleep and woke up around 11 a.m.

I started preparing lunch. I cooked two different dishes and finished everything by 12:30 p.m. Then I bathed and prayed Zuhr.

Just after prayer, I heard Mum calling me.

When I went to her, she said, “I see you are rushing. But I want you to know that today I am craving tuwo for dinner. By Allah, you are not leaving this house until you prepare it for me.”

In a pleading voice, I said, “Please, Mum, forgive me. By Allah, I have a test, and the lecturer said if I come late, he will not allow me to enter.”

She said, “That is your problem. If you want, cook it. If you want, go.”

Fauze came and said, “Fatima, go. I will prepare the tuwo.”

Mum immediately shouted, “Shut your mouth, useless girl. Leave my sight. By Allah, if you cook it, it will be between me and you.”

Fauze went back to her room, grumbling.

“Haba, Mum. By Allah, what you are doing to Fatima is not right, especially because Abba is not around.”

I went out and headed to the kitchen quickly.

I lit the gas, placed the tuwo pot, and started preparing the soup with meat. I quickly blended the pepper and finished everything around 3:15 p.m. I poured the food into the flasks, then rushed to my room and dressed.

By 3:30 p.m., I left the house.

But annoyingly, I could not find transport. I walked on foot, praying that I would not be late. Suddenly, I saw it was already 3:45 p.m.

I stopped a motorcycle and was about to climb on when I saw a tricycle. I quickly entered the tricycle instead.

Just as I reached the class, he was entering. But because he entered before me, he refused to let me in.

I pleaded with him, but he shouted at me so harshly that my insides trembled.

Weakly, I turned and went to my usual sitting place.

I cried deeply.

So this was it. He had only been waiting for a chance against me. Now his wish and Mum’s wish had come true.

Why did Mum hate me? Since I was a little girl, she had been making life hard for me, and even now she had not stopped.

Why, Mum? Why?

My crying grew stronger.

Suraj Comforts Fatima

As if from nowhere, I heard his cool voice.

“Are you crying? Ya Salam. What happened to you? Why are you crying?”

I did not answer him. I only continued crying.

Even though he knew that something serious must have made me cry, he gently said, “Be patient. Every human being has a trial in life. So be patient and endure your own trial. Please stop crying.”

A strange calmness entered my heart because it had been a long time since someone comforted me like that, not since Yaya Jafar was around.

He asked, “What is your name?”

I replied, “Fatima A. Sadik.”

He said, “Nice name. What are you studying?”

“Medicine.”

“Good. What level?”

“200 level.”

“May Allah help you.”

“Ameen.”

He said, “I am also studying medicine. I am in 500 level. So if there is anything you do not understand, tell me. I will teach you.”

I replied, “Thank you.”

Friendship With Suraj

I then asked, “But you have not told me your name.”

He answered, “Suraj.”

“Wow. Nice to meet you, Suraj.”

“Me too,” he replied.

I said, “I will leave now. See you later.”

“Okay. Bye.”

From that day, a strong closeness began between me and Suraj. I even started disliking days when I had no lecture because I knew I would not see him.

One day, we were discussing because the exam was approaching. I told him I had not done Dr. Mumtaz’s test and that he said he did not care; if he wanted, he could fail me in his paper.

Suraj smiled softly and said, “Do not worry, my pretty. He only wanted to frighten you. Just focus and read. If he fails you, we will write a petition. Do you understand?”

I said yes.

He continued teaching me the things I did not understand until I understood everything. Then I said goodbye and left.

Fatima Enters Level 300

Time passed easily by Allah’s will. We finished our exams and entered 300 level.

I got the highest marks in our class.

Dr. Mumtaz had wanted to fail me, but he had no chance because I performed very well. Suraj was very good at teaching. He had taught me everything in a way that made me understand clearly.

When we came out of lecture one day, I saw the girls in our class gathered in a group, holding the timetable.

I moved closer and asked, “Hello, what is happening here?”

Asmau said, “It is good Allah brought you here. You are the habitual latecomer. By Allah, you must change now because Dr. SMK will be taking us Anatomy and Physiology.”

I asked, “Who is SMK again?”

All the girls asked, “You do not know him?”

They said, “Every girl in science knows SMK. He is a handsome lecturer, gentle and very intelligent. He is a Ghanaian doctor. They said he studied in New Zealand. He usually takes 500 level students, and any girl who sets eyes on him may fall for him.”

Then they warned, “But he has no mercy. Disgracing someone means nothing to him. So Fatima, be very careful because 500 level students said there is nothing he hates like latecoming. Tomorrow, we have him from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Try your best to come early.”

I said, “Insha Allah. I will even come by 8.”

They said, “May Allah keep us until tomorrow.”

I replied, “Ameen. I will leave now. See you in the morning.”

The Day Fatima Meets Dr. SMK

After praying Subhi, I did not go back to sleep. I read the Qur’an until daylight came.

Then I entered the kitchen and fried yam and eggs. I also prepared light fish pepper soup.

By 7:30, I had arranged everything on the dining table.

After that, I bathed and wore a long pink gown designed with blue stones. I rolled a blue veil over it.

When I came out to the parlor to eat, I met Mum.

I bent low and greeted her. She barely answered.

Then she asked, “What did you prepare for us today?”

I replied, “Yam and egg.”

She said, “No. By Allah, I am craving danwake. Go and prepare it before you leave.”

I tried to speak, but she slapped me.

She said, “Did I not tell you to stop arguing with me whenever I instruct you? Obey before you comment. I am waiting.”

I returned to the kitchen quickly, crying.

I lit the gas, brought out flour, and mixed a little. When the water boiled, I began dropping the dough into it. After it cooked, I served some and took it to her.

When I checked the time, it was already 8:30.

I picked up only my bag and left because if I stopped to eat, I would be late.

I walked fast, almost as if I wanted to fly.

Because our area was G.R.A, transport was not easy to get. I walked for about fifteen minutes before I found a tricycle.

When I reached the class entrance, everywhere was silent. Both boys and girls sat quietly as if no one was inside.

I entered the class with confidence.

But when I saw the person standing by the board, I froze.

Do you know who I saw?

It was Suraj.

He was dressed in a perfectly white suit that suited him beautifully.

His voice struck my ears.

“Walk out from my class.”

I stared at him in shock.

“I said leave my class. Are you deaf?”

Weakly, I turned and left.

Suraj’s Hidden Identity

I found one of the chairs near our faculty and sat down. Questions began filling my heart.

So he was a lecturer?

Why did he hide it from me and say he was also a student?

Why did he act as if he had never known me?

Why did he close his eyes and send me out of the class?

I sat there asking questions that I had no answers to until his period ended.

He came out with Bash, one of the boys in our class.

Asmau and the other girls came and sat near me.

Asmau said, “Fatima, why did you come late? I told you this man has no mercy.”

I replied, “By Allah, Asmau, something happened. I did not come late intentionally.”

Just then, Bash came and said, “Fatima, he said you should come to his office.”

I said, “But I do not know his office.”

Bash said, “Come, I will take you.”

He took me to the front of the office and turned back. I greeted and entered.

Ya Salam. I silently called the office a paradise on earth because it was beautifully arranged.

When our eyes met, he gave me a strange smile that I could not interpret.

“Welcome, my pretty. Have a seat.”

I sat on a chair.

He asked, “Why did you come late to my class, Fatima?”

He continued, “Your luck is that students are not beaten in this school. Otherwise, I would have punished you today.”

In a childish, pleading voice I did not even know I had, I said, “You did something worse than beating me.”

He laughed until his white teeth showed.

Then he asked, “Really? What did I do?”

I replied, “You disgraced me in front of my classmates.”

In his cool voice, he said, “That is why I called you now. Please forgive me.”

I smiled softly and said, “Alright, I have forgiven you.”

Then I asked, “But why did you tell me you were a student?”

He said, “Because I wanted you to become my friend. If I had told you I was a lecturer, you would not have agreed. But now, we are already close, right?”

I said, “Yes, that is true.”

He said, “That is the reason. But do not come late again because you will destroy my rules. Even today, I had to force myself to send you out.”

I replied, “Insha Allah, I will be careful.”

I stood to leave, but he asked, “Where are you going?”

He told me to sit back and pointed to the food flasks.

“Go and eat. I know you did not eat breakfast.”

I asked, “How did you know?”

He laughed beautifully and said, “My instincts told me.”

I laughed too, then went to serve myself and ate because our closeness had reached the point where I could eat in front of him.

After eating, I said goodbye and left.

Fatima Falls in Love

From that day, I became more careful. I stopped coming late no matter how much Mum tried to delay me.

One night, I lay in my room, unable to sleep because I was thinking about Suraj.

At first, I thought what was between us was only closeness. But now I realized that I had fallen deeply in love with him.

The only thing bothering me was that Suraj had not yet said he loved me. But he showed me so much care. Whenever he had class with us, he would call me to ask whether I had arrived.

The sound of my phone interrupted my thoughts.

When I checked, it was our father.

“Hello, Abba. Good afternoon.”

He replied, “I am fine, Fatima. How is your study?”

“Alhamdulillah.”

“How is Hajiya Babba’s health?”

“She is better. We will return the day after tomorrow, insha Allah.”

“May Allah bring you back safely.”

“Ameen. Fatima, may Allah bless you.”

“Ameen, Abba.”

Who Is Fatima Bintu?

Fatima Bintu was the daughter of Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Danmaliki.

Her father was the son of Danmaliki of Gombe, a famous businessman whom almost everyone in Gombe knew.

Hajiya Karima, whom Fatima called Mum, was his first wife and also his cousin. Her mother and his mother, Hajiya Babba, shared the same father. It was Hajiya Babba who arranged the marriage.

He did not truly love Hajiya Karima deeply, but out of obedience, he accepted and married her.

As for Fatima’s mother, her father died when she was not more than seven years old. Her father had been a close friend of Fatima’s grandfather. Because of that, when Fatima’s grandmother completed her waiting period after becoming a widow, Fatima’s grandfather married her.

That brought terrible jealousy from Hajiya Babba. She complained bitterly until he finally calmed her down.

He never treated Fatima’s mother differently. Aunty Sakina, the younger sister of Fatima’s father, was the same age as Fatima’s mother then, so the two became very close. Everything was done for them together.

Hajiya Babba often gathered her children and lectured them against Fatima’s grandmother, but they did not listen.

She constantly mocked Fatima’s mother, calling her an orphan. Because of that, Fatima’s mother and grandmother never felt free in the house.

Ten years after Hajiya Karima gave birth to Yaya Jafar, Fatima’s father expressed his desire to marry Fatima’s mother because by then, she had completed secondary school.

Hajiya Karima refused completely. But even though he hardly argued with her, he loved Fatima’s mother deeply. So he took the matter to his father, and his father said that since he loved her, the marriage must happen.

That was exactly what happened. The marriage was conducted, and the bride moved in.

At that time, Hajiya Karima was heavily pregnant with Yaya Fauze.

Fatima’s mother only found comfort with her husband and Aunty Sakina. Hajiya Karima and Hajiya Babba joined hands to mistreat her. Fatima’s father could not do much because any time he tried to speak, Hajiya Babba would threaten to curse him.

Four years after Yaya Fauze was born, Fatima’s mother became pregnant with Fatima. Her father was extremely happy, as if Fatima would be his first child.

When the pregnancy reached seven months, Fatima’s maternal grandmother passed away. Her mother cried painfully, and from that day, she developed pregnancy-induced hypertension.

Her blood pressure remained high until the pregnancy reached nine months.

When labor started, she was quickly taken to the hospital. She gave birth, but within less than one hour, she died.

Fatima’s father cried until he became exhausted. Even after the seventh-day prayer, he could not eat properly. He entered a terrible emotional state, as if she had been his only wife.

Fatima was then handed over to Aunty Sakina, who continued raising her.

Fatima’s Life Changes

When Fatima turned five, Aunty Sakina’s husband was transferred to Abuja.

Fatima’s father insisted that Aunty Sakina must bring Fatima back to him. Aunty Sakina tried everything to convince him to leave Fatima with her, but he refused because he did not want Fatima to be far from him.

Aunty Sakina eventually returned Fatima while crying.

From that time, Fatima’s life changed.

Since she was a small child, Mum and Hajiya Babba openly showed her hatred and cruelty. Sometimes Fatima even forgot that Hajiya Babba was the one who gave birth to her father because all the hatred she had for Fatima’s mother was transferred onto Fatima.

When Yaya Fauze gained admission, Abba bought her a nice Vibe car for school.

When Fatima also gained admission, Abba bought her a Mercedes 4Matic 350.

But Mum became furious and complained that he was showing difference between Fatima and Fauziya. She reported him to Hajiya Babba, and Hajiya Babba ordered him to collect the car from Fatima.

He pleaded with Hajiya, saying, “Please, Hajiya. Girls whose fathers are not as wealthy as me have cars, let alone my own daughter.”

But Hajiya said she had already spoken, and if he disobeyed her, she would not forgive him.

Because of Hajiya’s ignorance and stubbornness, Fatima had to suffer by going to school with commercial transport.

They had about ten house workers, yet Mum insisted that Fatima must be the one cooking for the family.

Whenever Abba tried to complain, Mum would lie and say Fatima herself had asked to be cooking.

Fatima could not refuse them because if she did, Mum would beat her.

Since she used gas for cooking and the pounding and cutting were usually done by Iya Mero, cooking gradually became normal to her. She even had a timetable and often read cooking books.

At that time, Abba and Aunty Sakina had taken Hajiya Babba to India for a kidney transplant. They had been there for three months.

The Royal Proposal

Abba returned, and Yaya Jafar also came with his wife. He worked in a company in England, where he had been retained after his studies.

Alhamdulillah, Hajiya’s health improved.

One day, we were sitting at the dining table eating when His Majesty the Emir called Abba.

He said it was about the matter they had discussed the other day and that they would come with him the next day, insha Allah.

Abba replied, “Alright, Your Majesty. May Allah keep us until tomorrow.”

The Emir said, “Ameen.”

After ending the call, Abba turned to Karima and said, “I forgot to tell you. His Majesty and I discussed something. He asked me to give one of my daughters to his son in marriage because of the friendship between us. He wants our families to be joined. Among all his children, this son is the one he loves most.”

He continued, “The Emir gave his son enough time to choose a wife, but up till now, nothing has happened. So he decided to look for a wife for him himself. Since Fauziya is the eldest, I think we should join them together. What do you think?”

Mum became very happy and said, “Of course, Alhaji. This decision is good. May Allah make it successful.”

We all answered, “Ameen.”

Then Abba looked at Yaya Fauze and said, “Fauziya, prepare to meet him tomorrow.”

She replied, “Alright, Abba.”

Then he looked at me and said, “Auta, may Allah bring out what is best for you too.”

Shyly, I said, “Ameen, Abba.”

But in my heart, I said, “I have already found him. I am only waiting for him to say it with his own mouth.”

Suraj Comes to the House

From morning, everyone prepared to receive His Majesty and his son.

Different foods were cooked, more than five types, not including snacks and drinks. Even the drinks were about five types, apart from bottled ones.

Yaya Fauze was very excited because a suitor was coming.

They did not arrive until after Isha prayer. Only the Emir and his son came.

After greeting Abba, the Emir asked that his future daughter-in-law be called so they could greet. Then she and his son would be allowed to speak.

Abba said, “Jafar, go and call her.”

We were in the room, and I was helping Fauze with her makeup because she did not know how to dress properly on her own.

Yaya Jafar came and told her to come out.

She went, but after less than ten minutes, Yaya Jafar came back and said, “Fatima, Abba said you should come and greet them too.”

I replied, “Alright.”

With my head lowered, I greeted His Majesty.

Abba said, “Your Majesty, she is the daughter of the late Bintu. She is the baby Bintu left behind, so I named her after her mother.”

The Emir said, “Allahu Akbar. May Allah have mercy on her.”

Everyone answered, “Ameen.”

Then Abba said, “You have not greeted your elder brother.”

I raised my head and began, “Good evening…”

But when our eyes met, my mouth could not complete the words.

In my heart, I kept saying, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un.”

But he acted as if nothing had happened and simply asked, “Are you alright? Are you tired?”

I regained myself and replied, “No, I am not tired.”

I stood and returned to my room.

As soon as I lay down, my head began aching. I did not know when I burst into painful tears. I felt deep pity for myself.

While I was crying, I heard someone enter the room.

I looked up in fear and saw Yaya Jafar.

He asked, “Fatima, what happened? Please do not hide anything from me. I am your brother. Since you and Prince Suraj looked at each other, I noticed your mood changed completely. Tell me the truth. Do you know him?”

Through heavy tears, I told him the story of the closeness between me and Suraj. I did not hide anything. I told him that I loved Suraj deeply.

Yaya Jafar stood and left.

When he entered the parlor, he whispered into Abba’s ear, and they both went outside. He told Abba everything.

Abba then told him to call Prince Suraj.

When Suraj came, Abba told them to call me too.

When I arrived, Abba looked at Suraj and said, “Fatima told me that both of you became close at school. If you know there is love for Fatima in your heart, tell me now. Fatima and Fauziya are both my daughters. You must marry one and leave one, so speak freely.”

The place became silent for a long time. No one spoke.

Abba said again, “I am waiting for you, Suraj.”

Suraj sighed and said, “There is nothing between me and Fatima, Abba. I know we respect each other deeply, but I have never told her that I love her.”

I quickly raised my head, and our eyes met. He immediately looked away.

Abba said, “Alright. You may return inside.”

Then he looked at me and said, “Fatima, do not let this disturb you. Not everything you love becomes good for you. I want you to know that I always pray for you. So put it in your heart that Allah has made this the best for you.”

I said, “Ameen, Abba. Insha Allah, I will do as you said.”

He said, “May Allah bless you.”

I replied, “Ameen.”

Fatima’s Heartbreak

When I left that place, I returned to my room and continued crying painfully.

Truly, I loved Suraj deeply. It was not a small love.

But why did you do this to me, Suraj?

Why did you follow the path that made me love you, only to say at the end that you did not love me?

Why, Suraj? Why?

I was broken. I had lost him forever.

“O Allah, replace him for me with what is better. O Allah, remove Suraj’s love from my heart.”

I cried as if my soul would leave my body. My heart burned with pain and sorrow.

After crying enough, I entered the bathroom, performed ablution, and prayed Isha. After that, I prayed Shafa’i and Witr, then made dua and poured my pain before Allah.

When I finished, I lay down.

Suraj and Fauziya

On Suraj’s side, when Abba returned to the room, he looked at Yaya Fauze and said, “Fauziya, take him to the small parlor so you can greet each other properly.”

She replied, “Alright, Abba.”

He also told her to serve him food.

She led the way while Suraj followed behind. She kept acting soft and shy until they reached the parlor.

After they sat down, Yaya Fauze looked at him and said, “Honestly, Prince, I cannot express how happy I am right now. Today is my first time seeing you, but I love you as if I have known you for ten years. Allah has fulfilled my desire and shown me the day I will become your wife.”

Suraj remained silent and continued using his phone. It looked like he was chatting with someone.

After his silence became too long, she cleared her throat and said, “My Prince, I am talking and you are silent?”

He said, “Oh, sorry. Something distracted me here. May Allah choose what is best for us.”

She asked, “Is that all you will say?”

He replied, “Yes. Did you not hear that I made a prayer? Prayer is more important than everything, right?”

She said, “Yes, that is true.”

He gave a strange smile that even I, Maman Aysha, could not interpret.

Then he said, “Let me go so we can leave.”

Quickly, she said, “You have not given me your number.”

He replied, “Oh, sorry,” then called out his number to her.

She dialed it and said, “Here is mine.”

He said, “It is okay.”

They walked back together to the main parlor where Abba and the others were seated.

Suraj looked at His Majesty and smiled.

“Dad, shall we leave?”

The Emir replied, “Okay, son. Let us go.”

He turned to Abba and said, “Alhaji, we will leave now.”

Abba quickly stood and said, “Alright, Your Majesty.”

He told Yaya Jafar to call Mum so she could say goodbye.

She came quickly and happily said, “Your Majesty, we are very grateful. May Allah increase your greatness. May Allah strengthen the bond between us.”

She was smiling widely.

They escorted them to the car. Abba bent slightly in respect and said, “May Allah increase your life. We are grateful. May Allah reward you with goodness. May Allah take Your Majesty home safely.”

The Emir replied, “Ameen.”

Suraj drove away.

Fauziya’s Happiness

As for Yaya Fauze, when she returned to her room, she jumped onto the bed.

A deep happiness filled her.

She said, “Truly, I am lucky in life. This feels like a dream. I am going to marry Suraj Allura Cikin Ruwa, and what makes me even happier is that he was brought to our house.”

Immediately, sweet sleep took her.

Fatima’s Accident

Today, my lecture was at 8 a.m. I prepared early because Abba was now around, and I entered the kitchen only if I wanted to.

When I went out, no one in the house had woken up yet.

I stood by the roadside for a long time, waiting for a vehicle, but there was none.

When I saw that time was running out, I took a motorcycle.

We had travelled far when a car suddenly entered our path.

I did not know anything again until I woke up in the hospital.

When I opened my eyes, I saw Abba, Aunty Sakina, and Yaya Jafar sitting in the room.

As soon as I opened my eyes, Abba quickly came and hugged me.

He said, “Alhamdulillah. Allah, I thank You. Sorry, Fatima. May Allah continue to protect you.”

I replied, “Ameen.”

He asked, “Where is hurting you?”

I said, “My leg.”

He said, “It was a dislocation, but it has been corrected. Insha Allah, the pain will reduce.”

Aunty Sakina and Yaya Jafar also comforted me. They gave me food, and I ate.

Then Abba said, “Your classmates and some of your lecturers came to check on you. You had not yet woken up, so they asked us to greet you.”

I said, “I have received their greetings.”

Then I asked, “But Abba, how did you know I had an accident?”

He replied, “The man whose car hit you checked your phone contacts and saw that you saved my number as ‘Abbana’. He called me. The young man is very kind. He is even Jafar’s friend.”

Some more medicines were prescribed, and then I was discharged.

We all went home in the same car.

After dropping me at home, Abba took Aunty Sakina back to Hajiya’s house because he had picked her from there earlier.

Hajiya Finally Changes

When they entered, Abba greeted Hajiya.

She asked, “How is her body?”

He replied, “She is better. We have even been discharged.”

Then he said, “Please, Hajiya, I am asking for your favor for the second time. I want you to allow me to give Fatima the car I bought for her. By Allah, riding motorcycles when it is not necessary is not safe. From the way they fell, and from how the car hit them at the turn, she could have died. Please, Hajiya, help me.”

Aunty Sakina added, “Hajiya, it is time you reduce the hatred you show toward Fatima. The people you hated her because of, where are they now? They are no longer in this world. This girl is your own blood. You should have pity on her father because he obeys you.”

Hajiya sighed and said, “I have agreed, Abubakar. Insha Allah, from today, I have stopped hating Fatima. It was not that I did not love her. It was jealousy that caused it. But insha Allah, from today, I have stopped. May Allah bless you and unite your hearts.”

They all answered, “Ameen.”

With great happiness, Abba said, “I will go now, Hajiya. May Allah improve your health.”

She replied, “Ameen.”

Abba returned home happily and went directly to my room.

He said, “Fatima, Hajiya has agreed that I should give you your car. She has also stopped being angry with you. So now, you can visit her house.”

I said, “Alhamdulillah. May Allah continue to protect us from the evil of Shaytan.”

Abba replied, “Ameen.”
