She kept knocking for a while before she heard movement from inside. He stood up and came to open the door.

Yah-na was named after her mother’s elder sister.
Then came Bakura, who was named after his grandfather, the father of Alhaji Alaee.
Alhaji Alaee’s Family Background
Alhaji Alaee held many important positions, including the post of Head of Service.
It was during that period that he left their local government area and moved into Maiduguri city. He settled in a G.R.A area known as Famfamari.
Famfamari is a neighborhood inside Maiduguri, but not everyone can live there. It is mostly occupied by government workers and people of status.
After moving into Maiduguri, Alhaji Alaee enrolled Am’abuwa, Yah-na, and Bakura in a school called El-Kalamil.
El-Kalamil was an Islamic school. Even though it was an old school, it remained popular because of its high standard and expensive fees. Not everyone could afford to send their children there.
Alhaji Alaee took his children there because he wanted them to receive strong Islamic education.
Alhamdulillah, before they left Maiduguri and later moved to Abuja, the children had gained good Islamic knowledge. In Arabic too, they were not lacking.
The Move From Maiduguri to Abuja
Their decision to leave Maiduguri came around the time the girls had completed secondary school.
Only Bakura had not completed his schooling at that time. He was in SS2.
The three children were close in age because of the short gaps between their births.
Even though Bakura was the youngest, the age difference between him and Am’abuwa was not more than two years.
As for Am’abuwa and Yah-na, if someone did not know they were elder and younger sisters, one might think they were twins because of how close they were.
After giving birth to them, Allah did not bless Hajiya Khursum with another pregnancy. But since she and her husband were not people who desired too many children, the matter did not disturb them.

Life in Abuja
After they moved to Abuja, Alhaji Alaee secured admission for Am’abuwa and Yah-na at the University of Abuja.
As for Bakura, he was taken abroad to write his WAEC examination.
When the girls reached their final level, both of them found suitors.
Am’abuwa was to be married by a former aide to the governor of Maiduguri.
Yah-na was also to be married by a former deputy governor of Maiduguri.
At that time, they were waiting for the man to return from a course he had travelled for.
Alhaji Alaee wanted both weddings to be held on the same day so that everything would be completed at once. That was why Yah-na’s wedding had been delayed.
